Who We Are
Meet Fathom

Elizabeth Sexton
Elizabeth is a mom with a vision. As a previous homeschooling mother of three, she identified the urgent need for a curriculum that would provide young people with a deep philosophical understanding in ways that were naturally engaging. Fathom the Good is Elizabeth’s brainchild. She envisioned the project while a student of political philosophy under Professor Hancock.
Recognizing the inherent goodness and relevant nature of his work, she developed a pedagogy that specifically engages young people with vital but largely ignored philosophical ideas. She believes the family is the bulwark of America’s constitutional way of life and is devoted to helping parents teach the good philosophy underlying our Western and Founding traditions.
She leads Fathom the Good in developing innovative, content rich K-12 curricula to help individuals, families, and communities resist ideological corruption.

Ralph Hancock
Ralph Hancock (PhD Harvard), a professor of political science at Brigham Young University, has invested his career in defending faith and moral traditions and the family.
He is the author of many books and articles including Calvin and the Foundations of Modern Politics (Saint Augustine’s Press, 2011) as well as The Responsibility of Reason: Theory and Practice in a Liberal-Democratic Age (Rowman & Littlefield, 2011). He has a proven track record of resisting the intellectual mainstream, and his sound scholarship and moderate, measured reasoning provides an essential counterweight to prevailing ideological extremism that dominates the world today.
